another train journey on my todd again happy though thanks to my mp3 player and tool :D met my auntie jane at the gig :D she's great! :D we got the strongbows in and watched Rose Kemp perform :D her first song was the one where she loops her voice several times "Fire in the Garden" :D a great one to begin with! http://www.myspace.com/rosekemp it's hard to describe who she sounds like which is a good thing! she reminds me of portishead but without the bass she's very pretty! we met her after the gig and got my picture taken with her as you can see above :D amplifier lead singer has had his hair cut! :( what a shame! the starwars music before the band came one was ace nice n bassy hehe ive just been listening to rose kemps 4 myspace songs on repeat hehe theyre really growing on me! wish id listened to them more before the gig! although it was a shame she was on her own i think live gigs are much better when theres a drummer! i cant remember amplifier's set list but it was pretty good a couple of boring songs though :( ive ordered their amplifier amplifier album anyway aswel as one of rose kemps albums - A handful of hurricanes http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270208240647 i was having a great time head banging until i jumped when my favourite beat kicked in and i hurt my back :( hope all this moshing isnt taking its toll on my spine! another downer was we had to leave before the encore to catch the last train home :( at least i didnt have to run for the train or stand up on the train also Jane had Riverside on in the car :D and I put A Perfect Circle on for the train home : ) Really love my mp3 player on the train I wouldnt travel alone so much without it or good music for that matter! the academy 3 was good as usual the strongbows were pretty cheap the venue was pretty cold at first but soon gets hotter! the lighting was a bit too flashy tonight though :( way too much strobe lighting the crowd was pretty well bahaved apart from a bit of talking through Rose's set Prog fans tend to be nice n reserved apart from the odd mosher like me : ) overall another good gig :D |
